Samsung is set to launch the One UI 7 update, based on Android 15, with the first phase scheduled for April 7. The update will initially be rolled out to select devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Other eligible models, such as the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 and S10 series, will receive the update in the following weeks.
Despite Samsung’s claims of enhanced personalization and control, many customers have voiced concerns over the delayed release. Competing brands such as Xiaomi, OnePlus, Sony, and Motorola introduced the Android 15 update as early as November last year.
Online discussions highlight mixed reactions. A Reddit user commented, “Most major brands have updated their 2024 flagship devices already. What’s taking Samsung so long?” Another individual stated, “Samsung is usually faster, even with budget models. This delay is unexpected.”
Others expressed skepticism about the update itself. One user mentioned, “I’m content with the current version on my S24 Ultra. New updates often remove useful features.” Another frustrated user suggested switching to Google Pixel for more timely software updates.
Samsung’s One UI 7 update will bring features such as AI Select, Writing Assist, Drawing Assist, and Audio Erasers, first introduced with the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year.
